First, a single cycle of a sine wave is shown. Next, half the sine raised to the second power is displayed. (This is called a raised cosine pulse.) Next, a decaying series of four such pulses presents itself, with the decay factor and the pulses singled out and the time period consisting of the pulse train and a following brief period of silence marked as the length of one VOSIM waveform period. Finally two such complete cycles (four decaying pulses plus a gap) are shown side to side.
